What You Don't Need To Start Making Money On The InternetBy Randy Justason So you've decided to use the internet to make some money. Good for you. More people are making money on the internet today than in just about any other form of business. Some of you probably think (like I thought) that you need lots of money, large websites and a huge opt-in list just to get started. Nothing could be further from the truth. In fact, you probably already have everything you need to get started! Since you are reading this article, you already have the most important tools for making money on the internet...your computer and an internet connection! That's right, all you really need to get started is your computer, and the desire to do something to reach your goals. That last statement is rather important (reach your goals). If you simply plan to get rich before the end of the year by doing a minimal amount of work (you have probably read on several websites that you can), then you will be better off to close your internet connection now and go buy a lottery ticket. It just isn't that easy. However, if you want to put a little effort into your venture and see results from those efforts, the internet is a great place to start. You can eventually turn a part time hobby into a full time income. Thus, set your goal to something that can be achieved. It could easily be something like "I will place 25 ads every day this month", or "I will learn everything I can about HTML so I can build my own website". These goals are achievable and can eventually lead to a sustainable income for you. If you will notice I didn't set a goal to "make xxx amount of money in xx number of days". Why? Because (and I have seen this many times) if you don't make that amount of money in that time frame you immediately think that what you are doing doesn't work and you are wasting your time. Believe me, that is the main reason for people quitting and throwing their dreams into the trash. Don't do it. Now, how do you get started with nothing but a computer and internet connection? Glad you asked! The way 98% of us (yes, me also) did it is:
If you are not sure what "affiliate programs" are all about, read about them here. Don't be afraid to join the same affiliate programs as others have, if the program has been around for awhile then you can probably be certain they are legitimate and worthwhile. Don't rush the learning process. Never be afraid to take all the time you need to learn and never be afraid to ask questions to your sponsor, that is what he is there for! So just how do you make money with affiliate programs? It is really quite simple, get people to visit the websites that you will be given by the affiliate program administrators. The website actually does the selling and the affiliate program administrators look after collecting money from the customers, sending the product to the customer, and paying you your commission. Having said that, I don't believe you should go out and join as many affiliate programs as you possibly can find. If you do that, you will never make any money as you will be so busy trying to keep yourself organized that you won't have time to actually apply anything you have learned. I myself started by joining 3 good affiliate programs (Sound Future International (SFI), Marketingtips, and the Gold Affiliate Program) and that is plenty. You really don't need any more than that as you will find that with just these 3 you will have a large enough variety of products to sell. Speaking of variety, if you already have a favorite passtime or hobby, don't give it up! This can be a great advantage to you. Let me explain. Once you learn your affiliate program inside and out you may discover that there are products that fit in very well with your hobby. This can be a big advantage as later on, when you get into building your own web sites, you can focus on your favorite hobby and incorporate the products into the web site. But lets not get too far ahead of ourselves yet. As I said above, learn all you can about the affiliate program and put that knowledge to work. It won't do you a bit of good to read and read and read without doing anything else. Learn one aspect first, put it to work then learn another and put it to work, and so on and so on... At first you don't need to worry about building web sites of your own or trying to collect email addresses of customers. All that can be learned and applied later, after you learn how to advertise and get customers to the affiliate program's websites. Once you start earning commissions from the affiliate program you can start to learn about other aspects of internet marketing. In other words when your efforts start paying you and you have a routine worked out for taking actions, then (and only then) should you move ahead and learn other aspects, while continuing with your routine. In other words, start learning for the next step.........(but that's another article). So there you have it. You don't need lots of money, your own products, fancy websites or a large list of prospects to make money on the internet. Simply give yourself lots of time, set obtainable goals, learn each step thoroughly, take action every day and never ever lose site of your dream. You will obtain it if you believe you can!
